Ex-Soldier Accused in Iraq Rape and Murder

Well it's happened, a U.S. soldier has been accused of raping an Iraqi teenager then murdering her and her family. The Former soldier is 21 years old.
So we take young men, many who are not even old enough to drink a beer in this country, put weapons in their hands, send them to a hellhole on the other side of the world, cheerlead the death and destruction, tell them what they are doing there is protecting America, tell them that any means of defeating our enemy is okay (an enemy that cannot clearly be identified). Then you have the extremist pundits working overtime to justify prisoner abuse.

The only thing that would surprise me is if this hasn't happened more than once. I am not degrading our men and women in uniform (I used to be one of them). Lets face it we are creating some monsters over there. I am not saying every member of the military, by any means is going to become a rapist and a murderer but there are those people who under these very stressful circumstances will snap. Those that go undetected will someday be back here. I hope we are ready.
