Dan Quayle walks out on John Mellencamp. Former VP offended by liberal rocker.
Former Vice President Dan Quayle walked out of a concert after he took offense at comments rocker John Mellencamp made about the policies of the Bush Administration. The former VP made headlines, that triggered a war of the wits (he lost that one) when he criticized fictional character Murphy Brown and barely a ripple when he criticized Jennifer Anniston for her portrayal of a single mom on the hit show "Friends".
What I have to ask myself is this, what was he thinking? Mellencamp has been vocal about his political beliefs for years, has always spoke out at his performances. Did the former Vice President think this concert would be any different? Then it hit me he is thinking about running for President in 2008. He is looking to rally the conservative base behind him. He is trying to "Dixie Chick" John Mellencamp.
Please, Please Republican Party nominate Dan Quayle in 2008. Nothing could be finer. To quote your hero "Bring em on".

I was just looking at Bogs tonight and I found yours. Nice work Rad!
I live in a blue state, but in a very red county. I know how difficult it is to be the voice of reason surrounded by others of greed and/or ignorance.
Hang tough girl,
Kim
PS. I deleted my previous post because of a bunch of typos. I should have paid better attention. Sorry.
Right on! Quayle and...hmmm...how about KATHERINE HARRIS in '08!
Yikes. That's almost as scary as it is funny.
